    Disposition:

    • Self-Sacrificing - Jiang Cheng is more than willing to sacrifice himself for the safety of the ones he cares about the most, specifically his family. He, his sister Yanli, and his sect brother Wei Wuxian stopped at a town while they were on the run. When Jiang Cheng noticed that Wei Wuxian was about to be captured by their pursuant, he created a distraction and allowed himself to be captured by them to give Wei Wuxian and Yanli a chance to escape to safety.

    • Inferiority Complex - Jiang Cheng's parents adopted Wei Wuxian as his sect brother when he was a young boy. His father favored and doted on Wei Wuxian way more often than Jiang Cheng. Because of this, his mother often loudly criticizes him in public, making her ire known and reminding Jiang Cheng that he is inferior to Wei Wuxian in every way. That Jiang Cheng is to inherit and lead the entire Yunmeng Jiang Sect makes such treatment worse, because he shouldn't be inferior to someone else. This constant demeaning attitude from both of his parents created a deep want within him to please both parents and a deep feeling of inadequacy. He pushes himself to train as hard as he could just so that he could get praise from his parents and be out of Wei Wuxian's shadow. He believed that the only people that wanted and were capable of loving him were his sister and Wei Wuxian. Since their deaths, he is unable to take a lot of emotional pressure.

    • Tsundere - His love language lies in acts of service rather than obvious things like words of affirmation or gift giving. He is familiar with expressing himself in the same way as his mother did: with sharp words and threats. This doesn't make him the most easily approachable person ever. But while he is quick to anger and snap at people, he is also quick to protect and provide for those he deems worthy to be his loved ones. He constantly threatens to break his nephew's legs yet doesn't think twice to step in to rescue him when he seems as if he's in trouble. Growing up, his mother instilled in Jiang Cheng an understanding that showing any outward care or emotion, like his father did, was a weakness unfitting of a sect leader. He takes this lesson to heart in sounding sharp and cruel and being ill tempered, which puts off a lot of people from wanting to get close to him. In turn, this adds to his belief that no one would ever want him.

    • Sect Leader - While Jiang Fengmian had favored and doted on Wei Wuxian, Jiang Cheng had learned to be a sect leader from observing his father instead of being taught directly. He guides the disciples of his sect with a firm hand and cares deeply about them and the people of Lotus Pier and Yunmeng. He gets to know his people so that he could provide that protection and guidance in a way where he earns their respect rather than demands it. After the Wen had destroyed Lotus Pier, it was said that Jiang Cheng had rolled up his sleeves and took a big part in rebuilding Lotus Pier, not afraid of the hard work that was required to do so. He doesn't put his own disciples in unnecessary danger. The motto of the Jiang Sect is "Achieve The Impossible" and Jiang Cheng works hard to ensure that his disciples are prepared for anything, training them in cultivation, archery, and other skills they might need to face and overcome whatever impossibility comes their way.

    • Responsible Guardian - With the death of his sister and brother in law, his nephew was rendered an orphan. Jiang Cheng took it upon himself to personally oversee the boy's upbringing. They only had each other left in the world. He cares for Jin Ling as if he were his own son, raising him and teaching him to the best of his abilities. He does this on his own with the determination that he would raise Jin Ling to know that he was always wanted. He's firm with the boy, constantly threatening to break his legs if he steps out of line, but rarely goes through with the threat as Jin Ling will fall right back in line and listen to what Jiang Cheng says.

    Under pressure:
Jiang Cheng was thrust into the role of Sect Leader at a very young age and in the midst of a war that had him face many battles on the field. In a physical fight, he is very capable of holding his own. This is shown when Jiang Cheng readily leaps into battles against the Wen and even took his place on the battlefield alongside his disciples at Neverngiht City. Emotionally, he's unable to take a lot of pressure. He was not brought up with the right tools to process emotions very well and struggles with both suppressing outward care and emotion and being able to express emotions like hurt and anger in a way that is healthy and beneficial. He verbally lashes out when put under emotional distress. Examples include when he lost his parents, his home, and his golden core (the source of his powers). He lashed out at Wei Wuxian, citing that he is nobody without a golden core and that he could not be a capable cultivator and effective sect leader without it. Upon arriving in a place that is absolutely unfamiliar to him, Jiang Cheng would try to get his bearings before trying to understand his new environment in order to find his way home. He'd also make sure that, if he knows that any of his loved ones are in the same situation, his loved ones are safe as they find a way home.

    Condition upon arrival:
Jiang Cheng will be arriving in relatively perfect health. His injuries are freshly healed from the confrontation at Guanyin Temple. Emotionally speaking, he'll be exhausted from all that had been revealed and happened in the last day.

    Abilities:
    • Golden Core Cultivation - Jiang Cheng has a golden core within him that is the source of his spiritual energy that allow him to communicate with spirits, transfer energy to another person as a means of healing them, and perform some magic. He had spent most of his life training as a cultivator to control and finesse it in order to utilize it to settle and dispel restless spirits.

    • Archery - The Yunmeng Jiang are well known for their archery skills. Jiang Cheng had been training in traditional recurve archery since he was old enough to hold up a bow.

    • Cultivator Physiology (swordsmanship and martial arts) - Jiang Cheng is a master of the Yunmeng Jiang Clan's style of swordsmanship and unarmed martial arts. This includes actual sword play, "riding the sword" (standing on the blade as a means of transportation between one place to another), and using it as a cultivation tool with the spiritual energy of the sword by being able to summon it telepathically and using it as an offensive strike from a distance. He is also trained in unarmed combat as part of his education, becoming proficient in it as a means of a last effort of self defense if he is unable to summon his sword or use magic. He has trained his body hard in the Jiang Sect's style of unarmed combat and is able to launch himself a fair distance, such as from the roof to the ground in an easy leap. He is light on his feet with this style and quick to move.

    • Zidian - An inherited spiritual weapon from his mother that takes the form of a metal snake that wraps around his wrist and joins with a chain to a ring around his middle finger. Upon his command, the snake transforms into an ambiguously length whip that consists of purple lightning with the power of potentially thousands of volts of electricity. Jiang Cheng is able to command weapon this for different uses. Mostly as an offensive whip but it can be used as a means of bondage to subdue people.

    • A pair of black cloth shoes
