The preparation for a wedding was a lot less intense than Jiang Cheng had thought originally. Then again, doing it here is very different than doing it back home. They had planned and put their heads together and come up with a small ceremony with their family, their friends. Nothing lavish, just the two of them celebrating their love for one another. Lan Xichen had suggested the Irokajun Forest as the site for their bows and for their banquet as well and Jiang Cheng had little argument against him when he saw his betrothed's eyes light up.

Announcements and invitations had been sent to every friend and family member.
After that had been settled, the preparations had to go underway: commissioning and getting red and gold robes for the two of them, food and drinks for the banquet, decorations. Decorations were the easiest part. Lan Xichen and he had discovered how their powers could work together and create such beautiful scenes.
But a wedding is not without its hitches and one could find Jiang Cheng ready to break the legs of people in recompense for his frustrations.
Ceremony
They didn't have shrines of either of their families here. But they have family and that means more to both of them than anything else in the world.
Their little part of the forest where they had set aside for the ceremony and a small banquet is blanketed in a beautiful layer of glittering white snow. It covers the branches, the ground, a few lanterns that they had brought. Glittering icicles that so happen to catch lights light the way for guests to make their way to their seats and for Jiang Yanli, Lan Wangji, and Wei Wuxian to take their seats for the tea ceremony.
Jiang Cheng tries to hold in his gasp when he sees Lan Xichen in his wedding robes for the first time. The brilliant red and gold against the snowy white backdrop of the trees around them. He swallows the emotions and reaches to take Lan Xichen's hand as they move along the pathway.
At the head of the pathway is an altar set up with symbols of both of their sects and a small incense pot to symbolize the heaven and earth. The pair kneel down and bow their heads respectively to pay their respects three times. Once they get up, they serve the tea together to thank their families for their support in their lives.
Once the final cup of tea had been taken, the ceremonies have completed, they join hands once again.

Not far from where the ceremony took place are about a dozen tables amongst the beautiful glowing lightbugs that dance amongst the snow and the trees. Food and drinks have been provided courtesy of catering from some of their favorite places. There is one table that is more elaborately decorated than the rest where the happy couple sits but they do not stay there for very long as they wish to spread the joy with the rest of their families.
The forest has its own music that seems to play gently in the background and as the hours darken, the high mystical energy seems to grow more prominent. One of the reasons for having the ceremony and celebration in such a place may become even more clear: Synchrony is somehow stronger in this forest, and any of those who engage in it will find they have produced at least twice of the amount of Manna as usual. Family, friends, and guests are welcome to stay and enjoy the background hum of familial and platonic Synchrony from the connections between them - or they may chose to slip away to any of the smaller, private alcoves a little deeper in the forest to take full advantage of it.
